Seni 2008

A couple of weekends ago saw the world famous martial arts festival, Seni, held annually at Excel in London. The event seems to get bigger and better every year. This year the event saw its fair share of regular faces and many new ones. Many of those in attendance are highly skilled athletes in their chosen art, they dedicate much of their lives to training and learning.

The event this year included exhibits that covered the life of Bruce Lee, a man who has been an inspiration to many of us involved in the arts. Having role models is vital, in all areas of life. To see those who have achieved their goals and are still setting new ones is a great motivating factor.

Every year I am surprised at how people from such a wide range of martial arts can all come together in the spirit of learning and bettering themselves. Any of you out there who have an interest in the martial arts should definitely consider attending this wonderful event.

I think this is a ethos that we should all try and carry into our everyday life, and even our training. Firstly learn and be opened minded, you should constantly educate yourself and constantly improve in all areas of you life. Secondly, look up to role models, set yourself realistic goals and go all out to achieve them.

Until next time,

TOM
