Jamie Oliver in the US

Hi All,

I have just been watching Jamie Oliver's new TV program, he is working in a US town to try and improve the levels of nutrition.  I found certain aspects of this show very scary indeed.  He went into a kindergarten class, with some kids aimed 6/7, and showed them a variety of vegetables.  The vast majority of the kids could not name any of the vegetables they were shown.

I think that this is a very scary situation, children do not on the whole like to eat veg and the problem of getting them to eat it is made even harder if they do not even know what they are.

Lets make sure that our kids know all they can about vegetables and fruit, lets do all we can to encourage them to eat as much as possible.

Anyway the program is well worth a watch!
